Bus:You can find a bus stop practically anywhere in Singapore and you don’t have to wait very long for a bus. Bus fare ranges from 45 cents to $1.80 (depending on the distance traveled). MRT:The MRT system is the fastest way to get around Singapore. Comprising three main lines – East West, North South and North East lines, they practically cover the whole Singapore. They arrive very frequently, with interval as short as one or two minutes during the peak hours. The trains are air-conditioned, clean and comfortable, and operate from 5.30 am to 11.45 pm daily (depending on the stations). The MRT fare ranges from 80 cents to $1.70 and LRT fare ranges from 40 cents to $1.10. Taxi:Taxis are plentiful. They can be flagged down almost anywhere on the street. These air-conditioned taxis charge reasonable fares. The average flag down rate is $2.40 with surcharge for peak hours, public holidays, CBD entrance, ERP zones (Electronic Road Pricing) and after midnight charge. Car Rental:With an international driver’s permit, one can hire and drive a car.
